What do I need to wear?
| Wear anything you are comfortable in, your exercise sessions will require you to move so anything that allows you free movement and doesn’t get too hot is perfect. The studio space is kept spotlessly clean so if you would like to work out barefoot you are positively encouraged to do so. |
Are there shower & changing facilities at the clinic?
| Yes we have a shower and changing room within the clinic complete with fresh towels should you forget yours. |
Do I need to bring anything with me?
| We don’t sell drinks at the clinic so bring anything you might want to hydrate with during your exercise session. Otherwise no we’ll take care of everything else. |
I have a bad back/knee/shoulder. Can I still exercise safely?
| Absolutely, at On The Bench we specialise in exercise to correct the problems that cause joint pain so you can be sure that your exercise prescription will be safe and effective every time. Call Neil on 02393 233140 to discuss your unique situation. |
What does the initial assessment involve?
| The assessments set a baseline for your physical abilities in terms of flexibility, muscle imbalances and other restrictions to movement that may limit your current abilities. They are an essential part of the exercise prescription. They are what make the sessions truly personal by moulding the exercises to your unique posture, musculature and flexibility. We live by the saying that “if you don’t assess, then it’s a guess”. We don’t guess when it comes to your goals, we do what works! |
I want to tone-up/lose weight/gain strength why do I need the initial assessment?
| Postural issues and muscle imbalances often go unnoticed or are ignored until they cause greater impairment to our daily lives. The aim of the initial assessment is to counter these issues before they can ruin your goals. Optimal posture will lead to greater more effective muscular recruitment during certain movements meaning that not only will you feel better but you’ll burn more calories with each movement, lose weight faster, tone-up quicker. It’s your goal, we offer every little bit of help that we can to make it that much more attainable. |
